I had a pleasure to design all of the Fondor dock for the game. Together with the teams and Luca's, direction and feedback we delivered a new cannon for Star Wars™ Battlefront™ II game.
For me it was a unique experience to design something this big and new for the IP. I did the whole concept in 3D because it was much easier for the Criterion team to check, in the designing process, whenever model/design works for the game play. This back and forward communication not only speed up the development of the asset but help us to design efficiently. I also did a lot of paint-overs for the level and the dock for things like light positioning, texture and color. Together with concept art team we did bunch of VFX and lighting variations that really brought this beast to life ;]
Although I can't show the full development process at the moment, believe me it was a unique journey!
